Where necessary, this may include professional mould cleaning and treatment, removal or replacement of badly affected porous materials, repairs to sources of moisture, improvements to airflow and ventilation, or the installation, repair or upgrading of suitable extraction or humidity-controlled ventilation systems. Effective ventilation is particularly important in kitchens, bathrooms and other

areas where moisture is routinely produced, as removing humid air can significantly reduce

condensation and the conditions in which mould develops. Current UK Government guidance

similarly emphasizes that removing visible mould alone will not prevent recurrence unless the

underlying causes, including inadequate ventilation and condensation, are addressed.
